Prayer Update for earthquake victims in Guatemala and more!

Praises:
1) For those churches and individuals who already responded to the call to prayer and to generously give to help the CHE villagers to rebuild their communities. About $20K have been received and the work for restoration continues.
2) Both Las Granadillas and Las Barrancas had water running back to their water tanks within 10 days after the earthquake. Then water flowing to their homes has been a gradual accomplishment.
3) We were blessed to have here the Women's Short Term Mission Team from Mission Community Church Mesa Arizona. They worked together with the CHE people at the Quiche CHE villages Chirramos and Chicoz but also joined
the Mam CHE team to deliver almost a ton of high protein compound to the directly affected 86 families. The locally available drink powder will last for a month during the current need.
4)The CHE planted church in Chirramos were able to present 5 new converts and their families during the farewell service to the Women's STM team from  Mission Community Church.
5) The Veterinary Team (Tom and Diane Schieffer) also sent by Mission Comm. Church were able to visit most of the same villages from last May and some new ones in CHE to follow up  the poultry and pigs projects worked since last May. A large majority of CHE villagers have multiplied their animals and some have even blessed more neighbors including orphans.
6) Littleton Bible Chapel from Colorado brought 2 water well teams to drill one well in Monrovia (Mam village) and in Los Tuices (Quiche Village) which were completed and are providing water to both communities now.
7)  Drops of Grace from Texas came to Honduras and with our CHE team there and Hugo Jr were able to drill a well at the village of Las Pilas which is now pumping effectively to provide water. Our team in Honduras with Jr then moved to a second village there and are still working on it as of today.
8) Dr. Hugo returned safely from Fiji where he had traveled to in order to share a TOT1 Seminar to the staff of Homes of Hope ministry. Karl and Debbie Mueller, pastor of Justice at Mission Community Church and our GCE Board Member invited and took Hugo there Nov 29 through Dec 10.
Requests:
1) Pray for spiritual, emotional and physical strength in the CHE villages to overcome this trial. They all need  prayer to be comforted and encouraged and recover hope.
2) Pray for wise stewardship of our local CHE Training Teams as the distribution of construction materials is going now to Las Barrancas, Las Granadillas and to Chanxenel which proved to have damaged homes too.
3) Pray to see all resources multiplied in God´s Kingdom economy to have these brothers and sisters become able to witness about God´s faithfulness.
4) Pray to have them getting the materials to rebuild their crops irrigation system to continue to produce income locally so to avoid life threatening migration to Guatemala city, to Mexico and beyond.
5) Pray for the week of December 25-31 will bring the STM team of the Mott Family with Calvary Church Muscatine Iowa to help the villagers of Los Alonzo with their CHE planted church facility project. Jim Mott is our GCE Board Member too.

Prayer Update as of October 27

Praises:
1) Hugo and Adolfo Leon  (GCE's Area Coordinator for Central America 1), traveled to Belmopan  Belize for the first Training of Trainers 1 Seminar  hosted by the Church of God there. Monday 17-Friday 21.  A dozen leaders of the denomination participated and we are expectant to see their launch of  implementation of CHE.
2) The construction of the caretaker house at the CHE Property is up to about 90%.  Join us  and the donors who kindly partnered and invested (Community United Methodist Church of Crofton MD) for this first building. Now the finishings are the next step to make it livable.
3) The Lexington Baptist Church South Carolina who came for a week worked at the CHE village of Paul Guatemala
with the local CHEs and Church to help complete the roof project. The thrust received has advanced the project
as a testimony to the whole village and surroundings.
4) For our US Visa renovation accomplished as the Gomez Family Miriam, Hugo Jr and Sr traveled to California and Arizona October 6-22 and visited supporting churches around the two states invited by Grace Community Church of Madera Calif. on occassion of the Global Ministry Fair. Meeting and learning from most of their missionaries was edifying. Realizing we are among their early supported missionaries (25 years) is humbling for us and gives us more encouragement to remain faithful in ministry partnership.
5) All the churches and families and ministries visited during the 16 days in the USA were kind and patient and treated us with God's Grace. We thank each one for your prayers which let us enjoy travel mercies by plane, car, and train.
6) For Betty our secretary who also had had an accident riding on the public transportation in the city. She suffered for several weeks but now has had her tests done and there is no brain damage by God's cares. They only found anemia which can be treated easily here. Praise God for those who kindly helped Betty financially for the brain tests.
7) For Antonio Vivas, CHE Team leader in Nicaragua who has been ill also.
8) All glory be to the Lord for Mario our son who received an award recently. If you would like please read

Prayer load to share with you:
1) For Kirk and Gloria Douglas in Littleton Colorado. Kirk had an accident also.  The 3 STM teams form Deer Creek Church (in a row) who were coming with Kirk for water wells project for November have been cancelled due to Kirk's rest and treatment. The Lord protected Kirk from more injuries than those serious he got but we need to pray for his recovery and encourage him. Kirk is our Director for Development of our CHE Training Center as you have read on previous posts.
2) For some parts of the road to the CHE Center Property which still need to be worked due to the heavy rainy
season. Pray for provision of man power and funds to do the work.

at various levels of partnership. We are not surprised about those but we can be more steadfast in prayer.

Help us praising the Lord for:
1)     Kirk Douglas was here in Guatemala for 2 weeks in August and continued work at the CHE Center property and road with the CHE Trainers and Hugo Jr.  We missed Gloria Douglas who had surgery and Kirk did a big effort to come here.  Amidst local logistics challenges (gravel delivery and etc) the planned work building the leach field and septic system and part of the road repair was worth the effort.  The Douglas love this project of the Lord to become an instrument in multiplication of CHE leadership for the whole Meso-America Region and beyond.
The Installation of the main gates happened already and more fencing must happen this September  too and the Caretaker’s house must begin to be built. Kirk is our GCE Appointed Director for Development of the CHE Training Center.
    2)   Our CHE Mesoamerica Regional Council scheduled for September 7-11 in El Salvador took place which much more blessing that we had even prayed for. 30 full time participants, with 2 other organizations also represented--Medical Mission Teams Guatemala and The Christian Missionary Alliance Costa Rica--. The needed scholarships were provided through Medical Ambassadors Int and Dr. Don and Nancy Orvis of Face to Face Int.
  3)     Dr. Hugo traveled  to Yucatan Mexico for Vision Seminar invited by Hispanics for Christ who gathered leaders of churches in the rural area.
4) The partnership with One Mission & GCE took us to Nicaragua for assessment of a housing project with 1 Mission, the 3 days of intense visits to CHE villages have given all the commitment to launch the housing project in the village of El Limonal Chinandega where CHE has had impact and long term sustainability. The prospect families will meet the 200 hours of volunteer community service to earn their homes.
5) Hugo and Roger Pavon from GCE Mesoamerica went to the Dominican Republic to teach the last week for the Caribbean and South America Internship Training. Roger Also represented GCE in their Regional Council in early September.
6) Christa Gomez has started her Nursing Program of studies in Schreiner University Kerrville Texas. The Sullivan    (a dear couple there) represented Hugo and Miriam during the initiation service and ceremony.

Help us for the following requests:
1) Dr. Hugo and Adolfo Leon traveling to Belize for the first Training of Trainers 1 Seminar to be hosted by the
Church of God there. Monday 17-Friday 21. Pray for fruit and to see CHE begin in Belize in His Time.
2) For the construction of the caretaker house at the CHE Property to begin this week. Pray for the donors who kindly partnered and invested for this need to be met (Community United Methodist Church of Crofton MD).
3) For the Lexington Baptist Church South Carolina who are this week working at the CHE village of Paul Guatemala
with the local CHEs and Church to help complete the roof project.
4) Pray for the lady police officer who prayed to receive Christ and got baptized during our Regional Council in El Salvador. Pray for her growth in Christ.
5) For our US Visa renovation as the Gomez Family Miriam, Hugo Jr and Sr need to travel to California and Arizona October 6-22 to visit supporting churches invited by Grace Community Church of Madera Calif. Pray for Grace before the US Consular officers.
